Biography

At Pitt-Johnstown

2008-09 Season
Steve played in all 32 games and averaged 2.5 points and 2.1 rebounds per game off of Coach Rukavina’s bench. He wrapped-up his junior season shooting 55.2% (32-58) from the field and 71.4% (15-21) from the free-throw line. Steve also had 15 assists, nine steals and 10 blocked shots. He scored a season-high 10 points against Penn State-New Kensington on Nov. 26, 2008. He also scored five or more points in a game nine times and pulled down five or more rebounds four times. Steve has career-highs of 11 points against Columbia Union (MD) College on Jan. 27, 2007, nine rebounds against West Virginia Wesleyan College on Jan. 12, 2008. He also dished out three assists against Penn State-New Kensington on Nov. 26, 2008 and three assists against Seton Hill University on Jan. 21, 2009.

2007-08 Season
Steve saw action in 29 games and averaged 2.0 points and 2.6 rebounds in just over 10 minutes per game. His 11 blocks ranked fourth on the team, while his 29 offensive rebounds ranked fifth. He shot 49.1% (26-53) from the field and 50.5 (5-10) from the free-throw line. Steve led or tied for the team lead in blocks six times. He also grabbed four or more rebounds in a game seven times. Steve posted a season-high of nine points against Bluefield State (WV) College on Jan. 24, 2008 and a career-high nine rebounds against West Virginia Wesleyan College on Jan. 12, 2008.

2006-07 Season
Steve earned a roster spot as a walk-on and proved to be a capable backup in the paint off Coach Rukavina’s bench. In 14 games-played, Steve averaged 2.4 points and 1.6 rebounds per game. He wrapped up his first season shooting 51.9% (14-27) from the field and 85.7% (6-7) from the free-throw line. He also had three assists, two blocks and two steals. Steve had season-highs of 11 points against Columbia Union (MD) College on Jan. 27, 2007, six rebounds against Indiana University (PA) on Jan. 10, 2007 and two assists against Penn State-Greater Allegheny on Jan. 30, 2007.

At Penns Manor Area High School
Steve was a four-year letterman under head coach Craig Mankins at Penns Manor Area High School, where he averaged 18 points, 13.5 rebounds and 4.1 blocks per game as a senior. Steve also averaged 2.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game in 2005-06 on his way to being selected to play in the Heritage Senior All-Star Game. He wrapped up his career with 1,211 points and 910 rebounds. In addition, Steve helped lead his team to a 16-11 overall record and a berth in the 2006 PIAA State Playoffs. Steve was also a two-year letterman on the Penns Manor track and field team.
