The 2025-26 season will mark the sixth season for Cody Trabert as Head Coach for the men’s golf team at Pitt Johnstown after previously serving as a volunteer under Head Coach Mike Drahos the previous two years.
In October 2021, Trabert and Coach Mike Drahos guided the Mountain Cats to a fourth-place finish at the PSAC Championships, Pitt-Johnstown's best finish since joining the conference in 2013-14. Justin Scally tied for 10th at the PSAC Championships and was selected the PSAC Freshman of the Year and Second-Team All-PSAC.
In the spring of 2022, Pitt-Johnstown earned its first ever berth in the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Super Regional Tournament where the Mountain Cats came away with a sixth-place finish in the 20-team field. Two years later in the 2023-2024 season, the Mountain Cats earned their second NCAA Atlantic/East Super Regional Tournament berth and came away with a 13th-place finish.
During the fall campaign of the 2024-2025 season, the Mountain Cats set numerous records and had the best statistical semester to date. The team finished 2nd place at the PSAC Championships which is the best finish since joining the conference during the 2013-2014 season. The team also ended the fall semester with new highs based on Scoreboard Rankings finishing as the #3 ranked team in the Atlantic Region and also #73 nationally, before the team made their third appearance in the NCAA Atlantic/East Region Tournament and placed sixth.
Pitt-Johnstown has earned three berths in the Atlantic/East Regional Tournament with the first coming in 2022, and back-to-back appearances in 2024 and 2025.
In 2016, Trabert graduated from Pitt-Johnstown’s high-esteemed Engineering department with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology. He was also a member and main contributor on the golf team throughout the 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 seasons.
He currently works as an Electrical Engineer for FirstEnergy (Penelec) in Johnstown.
Trabert, his wife Caitlin, daughter Parker and son Cooper reside in the Ebensburg area.
