At West Virginia Wesleyan College
M’laya Ainsworth played in 20 games as a freshman and shot 38.7% from 3-point range, and appeared in 24 games as a sophomore and shot 32.4% from behind the arc.
At Massaponax High School
Ainsworth played her first three seasons at Chancellor High School, before playing her senior season at Massaponax High School. She wrapped-up her career as four-time all-conference and all district selection, including three years on the first team. Ainsworth scored over 1,000 career points and helped lead her team to a 2022 district championship.
Ainsworth, also a three-time letter-winner in volleyball and one-year letter-winner in soccer,
She was coached by Ramon Hounsheu at Massaponax High School.
