2019-2020
Mia Oterson took over a starting guard spot as a junior in 2019-20. She averaged 3.8 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game. Oterson finished fourth on the team with 29 steals.
Oterson has single-game career-highs of 10 points against Salem (WV) University on Dec. 4, 2019 and seven rebounds against West Virginia Wesleyan College on Nov. 20, 2019, and five assists at Edinboro University on Jan. 8, 2020.
2018-2019
Oterson’s action increased in 2018-19. Oterson made three starts and played in 22 of the 29 Mountain Cats’ games. She averaged nearly one point, one rebound, and one assist per game.
2017-2018
In 16 games as a true freshman in 2017-18, Oterson averaged 1.9 points and nearly one rebound per game. Oterson connected on nine of her 18 shots, including 7-12 from behind the 3-point line. She was also 5-8 of the free-throw line.
At Marion Center High School
Mia Oterson was a four-year letterman at Marion Center High School where she averaged 10.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 3.7 steals per game over her high school career. She was a three-time Heritage Conference All-Star who posted career-highs of 21 points against Northern Cambria High School and 10 assists against Blairsville High School.
Oterson was a 2016 U.S. Junior National All-Star selection and the Most Valuable Player at the Indiana Optimist All-Star Game and the 2016 Punxsutawney High School Classic.
In addition to basketball, Oterson was a three-time All-Heritage Conference choice and a 2016 District 6 All-Star as a volleyball player and an all-conference selection in track and field.
Mia, a member of the Academic Honor Roll from seventh through 12th grades, is the daughter of Michael and Maria Oterson. She was coached by Julie Horner at Marion Center High School.
