PITT-JOHNSTOWN MOUNTAIN CATS

Alexandria Teeter

  • Title
    Assistant Softball Coach
Alexandria Teeter, who enters her fourth season as a Pitt-Johnstown assistant softball coach, has lived in Johnstown all her life and attended Greater Johnstown High School. She then continued her education while playing softball for her late father, Carl Teeter at Mount Aloysius College, graduating with a 3.70 GPA with a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education. She now teaches preschool for CCCDC, contracted through Greater Johnstown School District.  While at Mount Aloysius, Teeter was a 3x NFCA All-American Scholar-Athlete and graduated Magna Cum Laude.

The four-year starter at first base broke several of the college's leading records over her years as a Mountie. Teeter was the team’s leading hitter in 2015 and 2016 and led Mount Aloysius to playoff appearances in each of herl four years.  In 2015, she was named to the AMCC All-Tournament Team, and in 2016, Teeter was one of just six players in the previous 10 year to get her 100th hit as a junior. She had 95 RBI’s, 214 total bases, and a .598 slugging percentage.

Teeter had the highest fielding percentage in the history of Mount Aloysius softball, ending her career with a .990 fielding percentage and only 10 errors.

Teeter would like to dedicate 2021, her first year of coaching college softball, to her father who passed suddenly in 2017. “My dad was my coach since I was five years old and all through college. Playing college ball for my father was an unreal experience and I owe all my softball knowledge to him. Many people may think that the coaches daughter would get the easy road, but he was harder on me than any other player on that team. My dad taught me that in order to play ball at the collegiate level you cannot have paper thin skin, you have to be able to take harsh constructive criticism and learn from it. I believe that him being so hard on me has made me into the person I am today, on and off the field.”

“This year I hope to instill the belief into these girls that they can do hard things, they can achieve their goals and break individual and team records. I am excited for this season and to coach alongside Niki Pecora.”

Teeter is currently a kindergarten teacher in the Ferndale Area School District.
