Nicole Waligora began coaching at Pitt-Johnstown in 2013-14, a year before the program's inaugural season.
Prior to coaching at the collegiate level, Waligora coached at the junior high and varsity levels at Conemaugh Valley High School for four seasons. As a junior high coach, she led the Blue Jays to a 42-13 record and in 2012, helped lead the varsity team to a West-Pac Conference championship.
Waligora was a four-year stand out on the Saint Francis University softball team. In 151 games started, she recorded 130 hits, 34 runs, 62 RBIs, 7 homeruns, and 51 walks. She completed her career with a batting average of over .300.
Her notable awards consist of the following: 2008 Northeast Conference All-Tournament Team, National Fastpitch Coach’s Association All-American Scholar Athlete, Northeast Conference All-Academic Team, Saint Francis Athletic-Academic Honor Roll, two-time All Northeast Conference Utility Player, and ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District 2 First Team.
Waligora graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in English/Communications and Public Relations along with a minor in Spanish Language from St. Francis in 2009.
After graduation, she attended Indiana University (PA) where she received a Master’s Degree in Sports Science/Sports Management.
Waligora currently works at E.R.A. Sports Inc. and coaches the organization’s travel softball affiliate, Flood City Elite.
