At Homer Center High School
Caitlin Wolford, a four-year letter winner at Homer Center High School, will red-shirt for the Lady Cats in 2010-11. Wolford received the District VI Sportsmanship Award and was an honorary captain for the Lady Wildcats after having to miss the 2009-10 season due to injury. Wolford, who finished her career with 243 points, averaged 5.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game as a junior. In addition to basketball, Wolford was a three-year letter winner and one-year team captain in volleyball. She also earned one letter in softball and one in track and field. In the classroom, Wolford, a recipient of a Leadership Scholarship at Pitt-Johnstown, earned her school’s Academic Excellence Award, the U.S. Marine Corps. Distinguished Athlete Award, the Lady Wildcat Scholar-Athlete Award, the Homer Center Booster Club Scholar-Athlete Award and the EME Generation Station Scholar-Athlete Award. She also was a Wendy’s High School Heisman winner and a member of the National Honor Society at Homer Center, where she graduated as a Summa Scholar. Wolford was also awarded the Homer Center Tri-Athlete Award and the Homer Center Outstanding Senior Athlete Award.Wolford is the daughter of Kevin and Maliya Wolford. She was coached by Tom Lasher at Homer Center High School.
