2013-14 marked Mike Drahos’ first season at the helm of the women’s basketball program and Pitt-Johnstown’s first season as members of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC).  His Pitt-Johnstown squad finished with a 10-17 overall record and earned a spot in the PSAC Tournament with a 7-9 mark in conference-play.  After 11 seasons, Drahos is 120-162 overall and 83-130 against conference opponents.  He has guided the Mountain Cats to five PSAC Tournament appearances. His squads secured four straight conference tournament berths from, 2019-2023, including back-to-back appearances in the PSAC Quarterfinals in 2022 and 2023.  Drahos has also coached all 11 of Pitt-Johnstown All-PSAC West selections, including First-Team choices Olivia McCabe (2018) and Gabrielle Smith (2019).

Prior to coming to Pitt-Johnstown, Drahos spent five seasons as an assistant coach at West Liberty (WV) University.

Drahos, a native of Wheeling, W.Va., joined Head Coach Lynn Ullom’s Lady Hilltopper staff as the head assistant coach prior to the 2008-09 campaign. Drahos helped guide the Hilltoppers to a 107-47 overall record and two NCAA national tournament berths.  He was also an integral part of coaching and recruiting eight all-conference honorees, two conference Player of the Year award winners, a conference Freshman of the Year, an NCAA Woman of the year runner up, a Region Player of the Year winner, and a First-Team All-American.

His duties at West Liberty included recruiting coordinator, opponent scouting, conducting individual workouts, on-court instruction, weight training, digital editing, and academic counseling.
Prior to his stint at West Liberty University, Drahos began his coaching career at his Alma Mater, Bethany College (WV), as Head Coach Aaron Huffman’s top assistant for the men’s basketball program.  During Drahos’ two years as a Bison assistant, the Bethany men won 36 games, a Presidents Athletic Conference (PAC) title, and advanced to the NCAA Division III Regional Tournament for the third time in four seasons.

A two-time PAC Player of the Year and three-time First-Team all-conference selection at Bethany, Drahos was named to six All-Region teams over the course of his career and was a two-time NCAA Division III Honorable Mention All-American.  Drahos’ 1,681 points and 877 rebounds still rank him among the top-five scorers and rebounders in school history.  In his four seasons as a Bison, he helped lead Bethany to a 76-33 (.697) overall record, that included a pair of PAC titles and two NCAA Division III Tournament berths.

An outstanding student, Drahos was a Second-Team Academic All-American as a senior and graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in Psychology. He holds a master’s degree in Legal Studies from West Virginia University.

Drahos, his wife Courtney, their sons Miles and Macklin, and daughters Caroline and Catherine reside in the Johnstown area.
