Biography

2017-2018
Laurel O’Barto was averaging 8.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game before an injury ended her season after six games.  In addition, O’Barto had 13 steals in those six games.
 
Through three seasons, O’Barto has single-game highs of 20 points at Clarion University on Jan. 28, 2017 and 11 rebounds at the University of Charleston (WV) on Dec. 7, 2016.  She also dished out 11 assists against Mansfield University  on Dec. 4, 2016.
 
2016-2017
Laurel O’Barto took over the starting point guard position full-time in 2016-17 and ranked 29th in NCAA Division II in assists per game at 5.4 and 28th in total assists with 151.  She also led the team in steals (52) and averaged 7.4 points and 3.5 rebounds per game.  O’Barto scored in double figures eight times, pulled down for or more rebounds 10 times, and dished out five or more assists 16 times.  In addition, she led or tied for the team lead in assists in 23 games and steals on 11 occasions.
2015-2016
O’Barto played in 27 games and made 15 starts as a true freshman in 2015-16.  She averaged 4.9 points, and 2.8 rebounds per game. O’Barto led Pitt-Johnstown with 76 assists.

She scored in double figures four times, grabbed three or more rebounds 14 times, and dished out three or more assists in a game 11 times.
       
      
At Blairsville High School
O’Barto was a four-year letter-winner in basketball and a one-year letter-winner in cheerleading at Blairsville High School.  She recorded career-highs of 29 points, 12 assists, and eight steals in her high school career.

O'Barto also helped lead Blairsville to a pair of District 6 championships and three Heritage Conference titles.
       
O’Barto is the daughter of Shawn and Beth Barto.  She was coached by Ralph McGinnis at Blairsville High School.
