2019-2020
In 2019-20, Maddie Shanahan, the PSAC West Co-Defensive Athlete of the Week on February 17, started 28 of Pitt-Johnstown’s 29 games and led the team in rebounding at 6.6 rebounds per game. Shanahan averaged 5.8 points per game as a junior and had a team-best 33 blocked shots. Her 85 assists ranked second on the team.
Through her first three seasons at Pitt-Johnstown, Shanahan has single-game highs of 17 points against Seton Hill University on Jan. 26, 2019 and 12 rebounds against Clarion University on Feb. 15 2020. She also dished out seven assists against Gannon University on Jan. 6, 2020.

Shanahan played in all 29 games and made 13 starts as a sophomore in 2018-19. Shanahan averaged 6.4 points and was Pitt-Johnstown’s third-leading rebounder at 5.6 rebounds per game. Her 51.7% field goal percentage paced the Mountain Cats and her 46 assists and 20 blocked shots both ranked fourth on the team.

Shanahan played in 22 games and made 11 starts as a true freshman in 2017-18. She averaged 2.7 points and 2.9 rebounds per game.

At Unionville High School
Maddie Shanahan was a three-year letter-winner and three-time All-ChesMont Conference selection at Unionville High School where she averaged over 11 points and six rebounds per game for her career. As a sophomore, Shanahan was a second-team all-conference choice after averaging 11 points and five rebounds per game. The following two seasons, Shanahan garnered First-Team All-ChesMont honors after averaging 11.5 points and 8.5 rebounds as a junior and 12 points and 8.0 rebounds as a senior. Following the 2016-17 season, Shanahan was named to the Pennsylvania Terrific 25 Team.
In addition, Shanahan earned a spot on the All-District Team following her senior season.
Maddie is the daughter of Jerry and Kristen Shanahan. She was coached by Fred Ellzy at Unionville High School.
