Biography

As a Lady Cat
Monae, who played in 24 of the Lady Cats’ 30 games in 2008-09, was named to the WVIAC All-Freshman Team. She was Pitt-Johnstown’s leading rebounding at 6.5 rebounds per game and was the team’s fourth leading scorer at 9.5 points per game. Monae also had 14 assists, seven blocks and 32 steals. She shot 47.6% (98-206), 31.6% (6-19) from behind the three-point line and 45.6% (26-57) from the free-throw line.
She led or tied for the team-lead in scoring four times and rebounding nine times as a freshman. Monae scored in double-figures 10 times and had five or more rebounds 17 times in 2008-09. Monae also recorded four double-doubles of points and rebounds.
After one season, Monae posted highs of 19 points against Seton Hill University on Jan. 31, 2009 and 19 points against Shepherd (WV) University on Feb. 28, 2009. She also pulled down 19 rebounds against Shepherd on Feb. 28, 2009.

At East Stroudsburg North High School
Monae was a three-year letter winner who averaged 16.3 points per game as a junior and 17.5 points as a senior
. She finished with 1,179 points on her way to leading her team to a spot in the District playoffs for the first time in school history in 2008.
Monae, a two-time Blue Ridge Communications Female Athlete of the Week, was a two-time recipient of the school’s Most Valuable Athlete for Girls Basketball Award and a three-time First-Team Mountain Valley Conference selection. She earned induction into the East Stroudsburg North High School Wall of Fame and received a Certificate of Achievement from the International Masons & Order of Eastern Star in recognition of her outstanding academic and athletic achievements.
Monae earned Most Valuable Player honors at the 2008 Mountain Valley Conference All-Star Game after scoring 19 points. She was also chosen to play in the Via Classic Lehigh Valley All-Star Game and she earned a spot on the Delaware Valley Rotary All-Tournament Team in 2007 after scoring 52 points in two games.
She was coached by Jon Zerfoss at East Stroudsburg North High School.
