2016-2017
Olivia McCabe, the PSAC West Co-Player of the Week on February 6, led Pitt-Johnstown in rebounding (9.1 rpg) and was the team’s second-leading scorer (13.3 ppg.) in 2016-17. McCabe also led the team in field goal percentage at 47.5% and blocked shots with 34. With her 255 rebounds, McCabe moved into a tie for 23rd-place with Amy Kessler on the Pitt-Johnstown All-Time Rebounding List with 548. She needs 203 points to become the program’s 37th 1,000-point scorer. McCabe, who collected 11 double-doubles, ranked 29th in NCAA Division II in offensive rebounds per game (4.0), 54th in rebounds per game (9.1), and 68th in total rebounds (255).
Through three seasons, McCabe has recorded single-game highs of 24 points against Clarion University on Jan. 25, 2016 and 22 rebounds at Edinboro on Feb. 4, 2017, and four assists on four occasions.
2015-2016
Olivia McCabe finished her sophomore season as Pitt-Johnstown’s leading rebounder at 7.6 rebounds per game, and second-leading scorer at 10.0 points per game. She also paced the Lady Cats in field goal percentage (51.3%) and blocked shots (40), and was second in steals (28).
Nationally, her 1.43 blocks per game ranked 93rd in NCAA Division II, while her 40 blocks ranked 95th.
McCabe led the team in scoring eight times and rebounding 15 times during the 2015-16 season. McCabe, who recorded eight double-doubles, scored in double figures 17 times and pulled down five or more rebounds 15 times.
2014-2015
McCabe made immediate contributions as a true freshman in 2014-15. In 24 games-played (10 starts), McCabe averaged 4.9 points and 3.4 rebounds per game. Her 14 blocked shots led the team, while her 3.4 rebounds per game and 48.8% (41-84) shooting from the field both ranked second on the team. McCabe also had 16 assists and eight steals. She also led the Lady Cats in rebounding twice as a true freshman. McCabe scored in double figures four times and grabbed five or more rebounds five times.
At Portage Area High School
Olivia McCabe, a four-year starter and two-year team captain, averaged 15 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 3.8 blocks per game on her way to becoming Portage Area High School’s first girls' basketball PIAA A All-State selection in 2013-14.
McCabe, who led Portage to back-to-back West-Pac Conference titles and a District 6 Championship in 2014, is Portage’s second all-time leading scorer with 1,516 points. She all holds school records in rebounding (1,200) and blocks(381).
McCabe was a two-time Johnstown Tribune-Democrat “Fab Five Player of the year, a 2014 First-Team Altoona Mirror, and a three-time Altoona Mirror Player of the Week selection. She earned MVP honors at the 2014 Ameriserv Senior All-Star Showcase and received the U.S. Marine Corps Distinguished Athlete Award.
In addition to basketball, McCabe was and all-conference selection in both volleyball and track and field, and an All-District 6 choice in volleyball in 2013.
McCabe is the daughter of Bradley and Kristie McCabe. She was coached by Lance Hudak at Portage Area High School.
