Biography

At Pitt-Johnstown
     Riley Childress took over the starting point guard spot as a junior in 2024-25 and led the Mountain Cats in assists (118) and steals (45).  Childress also ranked second on the team in scoring at 14.2 points per game and third in both rebounding (3.9 rpg.) and 3-point field goals made (19).  She ranked third in the PSAC in total assists (118) and assists per game (4.4), and eighth in the conference in assist-to-turnover-ratio (1.06.).  Nationally, Childress ranked 37th in assists per game and 64th in total assists.  Childress was also named to the 2024-25 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team.

After transferring from Roberts Wesleyan (NY) University, Childress made her Pitt-Johnstown debut in 2023-24 and played in 24 games and made one start.  She averaged 2.2 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game.  Childress also had 12 steals.

Through two seasons, Childress recorded single-game highs of 22 points at Clarion on Jan. 11, 2025, six rebounds on seven occasions, and 10 assists against Mansfield on Nov. 23, 2024
 
She is majoring in Biology/Pre-Physician's Assistant...Riley is the daughter of Red and Stacy Childress of Warren, Pa.
 
 
At Roberts Wesleyan (NY) University
Childress played the 2022-23 season at Roberts Wesleyan (NY) University where she started eight games and played 474 minutes as a freshman.  Childress was also named Rookie of the Week.
 
 
At Warren Area High School
 Childress was a four-year letter-winner at Warren Area High School where she finished her career as the school’s fifth-leading scorer with 1,341 points.  Childress, a four-time all-region choice and a two-time All-District 10 selection, helped lead her team to three district 10 Championships.
       
Childress was coached by Lisa Lavan at Warren Area High School.
