After eight seasons as Head Boys Varsity Soccer Coach at North Star High School in Boswell, Chad Duryea joined the women’s soccer staff at Pitt-Johnstown in 2016.
Duryea, who has a NSCAA Advanced National Diploma and a USSF National Level ‘D’ Coaching License, was the head coach at North Star from 2008 through 2015. He was a three-time Somerset County Coach of the Year selection (2009, 2010, 2013) who guided his teams to a pair of PIAA Class A Final Four appearances (2010, 2013), two District 5 titles (2010, 2013), three Somerset County Championships (2009, 2010, 2013), and three West PAC Conference Championships (2009, 2010, 2013).
Duryea, a graduate of Johnstown’s Richland High School, has worked many camps and clinics and is currently a board member of the Laurel Highlands Futbol Club where he serves as a head coach of a U17 Boys team.
He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health and Physical Education from Indiana University (PA) in 2007, and a Masters of Education-Principal’s Certificate from California University (PA).
Duryea is currently a Physical Education and Driver’s Education teacher at North Star High School. He and his wife Korie reside in Johnstown.HH
