Biography

Freshman Season (2019-20)
Jacob Ealy jumped into the starting line-up as a true freshman and won a Super Region I title at 141 lbs. to qualify for the national tournament.  Ealy, the PSAC Freshman of the Year, and the NWCA Super Region I Rookie of the Year, was 19-11 overall and 14-9 in dual meets.  He was tied for second on the team with five technical fall wins, and tied for third with four major decision victories.  Ealy, who was named the PSAC Wrestler of the Week on December 9, also garnered First-Team All-PSAC honors and was selected to the NWCA Scholar All-America Team.

Sophomore Season (2020-21)
Due to COVID-19 limitations, Ealy wrestled at the regional and national tournaments.  He moved from 141 lbs. to 149 lbs. and was 5-4 on his way to earning an at-large bid to the NCAA Championships after winning a True-Second-Place Match at the Super Region I Tournament.  Ealy went on to place eighth at nationals to earn his first All-America honor.

Red-Shirt Sophomore Season (2021-22)
Ealy went a team-best 29-3 overall and 13-0 in dual meets on his way to winning his second Super Region I title and becoming a two-time NCAA All-American by placing third at the National Tournament.  Ealy was named First-Team All-PSAC for the second time and placed fifth at the Midwest Classic.  His five wins by major decision tied for the team lead, while his six technical falls were second and his 10 wins by decision were tied for second on the team.

Red-Shirt Junior Season (2022-23)
Ealy, who held the No. 1 spot in the country at 149 lbs. for much of the season, led the Mountain Cats with a 29-2 overall record and a 15-0 mark in dual meets.  He won his third Super Region I championship and placed fifth at the NCAA Champions to become a three-time All-American.  The PSAC Wrestler of the Week on Dec. 20, garnered his third Frist-Team All-PSAC accolade and won a title at the Midwest Classic in Indianapolis.  He tied for the team-lead with nine technical falls and was tied for third in falls with five.  Ealy enters the season 18 wins shy of becoming the 27th Mountain Cat to reach 100 career victories.
