Biography
Matt Sarbo transferred to Pitt-Johnstown prior to the 2024-25 season after winning two junior college national championships at Iowa Central Community College.

Freshman Season (2022-23)
        Sarbo posted a 27-1 overall record was named the NJCAA Freshman of the Year and won his first of two NJCAA National Championships...helped lead team to national runner-up finish.
Sophomore Season (2023-24)
        Sarbo, who went 22-2, claimed his second NJCAA National Title on his way to being named the Junior College National Wrestler of the Year and the top Pound-For-Pound Wrester in junior college.

Red-Shirt Junior Season (2025-26)
In his 2025–26 Mountain Cat debut, Matt Sarbo finished as the NCAA Div. II National Runner-Up at 149 lbs and received All-American honors. Sarbo, a First-Team All-PSAC selection, posted a 28-3 overall record and a 10-0 dual meet record with three decisions, six major decisions, nine technical falls, and 10 falls. He finished as a champion at the East Stroudsburg Tournament, placed third at the 2025 Midwest Classic, and placed second at the Super Region I Tournament.
