Shane Valko is a decorated wrestler, elite coach, and a lifelong ambassador for the sport of wrestling. His journey on the mat began at a young age and led to an outstanding collegiate career that established him as one of the most accomplished wrestlers of his generation.

During his time as a collegiate athlete, Shane became a 3x NCAA All-American, earning podium finishes of 4th in 2008, 2nd in 2009, and 1st in 2010, ultimately becoming an NCAA National Champion. His dominant 2010 season earned him numerous honors, including NCAA National Tournament Outstanding Wrestler, East Coast Wrestler of the Year, and National Wrestler of the Year. He capped off his collegiate career by being inducted into the NCAA Hall of Fame. In addition to wrestling, Shane was also a collegiate golfer, showcasing his versatility and athleticism.

As a coach, Shane brings the same intensity and passion that fueled his own career. He has coached 48 All-Americans and 4 National Champions, earning a reputation for developing mentally tough, technically skilled, and physically prepared athletes. He currently serves as the Head Women’s Wrestling Coach at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, where he is building a powerhouse program focused on excellence, growth, and grit.
