Lady Cats Suffer Tough 4-2 Road Loss at Edinboro

Emily Helms and Kim Bonnett each scored a goal for the Lady Cats, but it wouldn't be enough, as Edinboro University dealt Pitt-Johnstown a 4-2 PSAC road loss on Friday. Pitt-Johnstown slipped to 0-9-0 overall, and 0-9-0 in the PSAC.

The Fighting Scots started off the match with a goal by Becca Costello off of a penalty kick in the second minute. Edinboro added goals in the 26th and 32nd minute by Alex Brown and Liz Debo, before Pitt-Johnstown answered with a goal from Helms, assisted by Maura Koshute to end the half.
 
Lauralee Clements notched a goal off of a free kick from 30 yards out in the 65th minute. The Lady Cats battled back with an unassisted goal from Bonnett, but that was as close as it would get.
 
Leeann Gorman made three saves and allowed two goals. Timi Shiock, who replaced Gorman in the 26th minute, made four saves but also allowed two goals. Mary Murray made one save and allowed one goal for the Fighting Scots before being replaced by Meghan Kelly. Kelly made two saves and allowed one goal.
 
With the win, Edinboro improved to 7-3-0 overall and 5-3-0 in the PSAC.
 
The Lady Cats host a PSAC match on Wednesday against Mercyhurst University at 4:00 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field, before traveling to Gannon University on Saturday for another conference match.
