Lady Cats Suffer PSAC Loss to Mercyhurst

Lauren Testa scored a pair of goals to help Mercyhurst University break open a one-goal halftime advantage en route to a 4-0 PSAC victory over the Lady Cats, Wednesday afternoon at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field. The Lady Cats slipped to 0-10-0 overall and 0-10-0 in the PSAC.

The Lakers opened the scoring in the 41st minute when Testa finished Nicole McAlpin's cross in the box.

Testa went on to score four minutes into the second half off of a free kick from the top of the box, before Emily Leiby knocked in a rebound off the crossbar from Janine Wong's corner kick. Mercyhurst finished the scoring with an own goal off of a Lady Cat defender in the 77th minute.

Timi Shiock suffered the loss in goal for Pitt-Johnstown. Shiock saw 24 Mercryhurst shots, made six saves, but surrendered all four goals. Ellie McDougall earned the shutout after making three saves.

Mercyhurst improved to 5-5-1 overall and 4-5-1 in the PSAC.

Pitt-Johnstown travels to Gannon University for a conference match on Saturday, before returning home to host a PSAC match against West Chester University on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.
