Pitt-Johnstown, which made 4-5 from the free-throw line down the stretch, made it four straight wins and improved to 13-9 overall and 10-7 in the WVIAC.
Monae Baker (Bushkill, Pa.) scored two straight baskets to knot the score at 80 and force overtime. Pitt-Johnstown scored the first six points, before holding off the Lady Cardinals by hitting 4-5 free-throws in the final 22 seconds.
Lauren Myers' lay-up in the opening possession put Wheeling Jesuit up 2-0 and the Lady Cardinals held that lead the rest of the first half.
Aden's bucket at 15:10 pulled the Lady Cats to within two at 12-10, but Wheeling Jesuit used an 18-9 run over the next 7:07 to build a 30-17 lead. Two of Chrissy Pavlik's game-high 30 points gave the Lady Cardinals their first double-digit lead at 26-15 with 9:23 remaining in the half, before two free-throws from Kim Mueller extended the lead to 13 just over a minute later.
Pitt-Johnstown battled back to cut it to five on another Aden basket at 2:4, but Wheeling Jesuit pushed the lead back out to 11 with 55 seconds left. Baker hit two free-throws with 12 seconds to cut the Lady Cat deficit to 42-35 at halftime.
Two straight baskets by the Lady Cardinals to open the second half gave Wheeling Jesuit a 46-35 advantage, but Stacy Goode (Pleasant Plain, OH) made a steal and finished with a lay-up to make it 46-39 at 17:43.
Wheeling Jesuit outscored Pitt-Johnstown 16-6 over the next 3:23 to go up 59-45. However, the Lady Cats clawed their way back again with a 14-3 run of their own. Aden's lay-up and free-throw cut it to 62-59 just under the midway point of the second half.
The Lady Cardinals quickly recovered and made it a 10-point game at 69-59 on Kara DeSantis' bucket a minute later. Back-to-back three-pointers from Qiuana Brown's (Monroeville, Pa.) capped another Pitt-Johnstown rally and tied the score at 76 with 2:45 to play.
After four straight points by Wheeling Jesuit, Baker answered with four straight of her own to force overtime with the scored tied at 80.
