Allison Krischer Scores 33 Points to Lead Lady Cats Over Shippensburg in Sports Center

The Lady Cat basketball team made it three straight wins and improved to 3-1 with an 85-75 win over Shippensburg University, Wednesday night in the Sports Center. Senior guard Allison Krischer (Johnstown, Pa.) scored a career-high 33 points to lead three Pitt Johnstown players who scored in double figures.
Krischer, who broke her previous career-high of 27 points in a game, finished the night shooting 11-20 from the field, including 5-8 from behind the three-point line. Krischer was also 6-10 from the free-throw line, grabbed two rebounds, dished out four assists and made three steals. Senior forward Jessica Zapf (Pittsburgh, Pa.) added 22 points on 9-12 shooting, and senior guard Chelsea McKinney (St. Petersburg, Pa.) poured in a career-high 12 points and had a game-high six assists. Lady Cat junior forward Jill Maurer (Johnstown, Pa.) also had a career-night with nine points and five rebounds. In addition, Head Coach Jodi Gault got seven points and two blocks from sophomore Lindsay Cale (Hummelstown, Pa.) and eight rebounds and three blocks from junior Sarah Priest (Johnstown, Pa.).
After battling back and forth with Shippensburg the first eight minutes of the game, the Lady Cats went on a 19-5 run over the next nine minutes to take a 37-21 lead with 3:36 to play in the first half. The Lady Raiders cut the lead to 40-31 at halftime, but Pitt Johnstown built the lead back to 18 points 13 minutes into the second half and went on to earn the 10-point win.
Coach Gault's team shot the ball well from the field. The Lady Cats shot 58.5% (31-53) for the game, including 15-23 (65.2%) in the second half, while holding the Lady Raiders to 46.2% (30-65) shooting for the game. Pitt Johnstown also went 7-14 from behind the three-point line.
Shippensburg's Lauren Beckley led the Lady Raiders with 24 points and eight rebounds. Megan Fogle (18 points) and Shanna Oaddams (10 points) rounded out the double figure scorers for Shippensburg, now 2-3 on the season.
The Lady Cats travel to Ohio Valley (WV) University on Saturday and to Clarion University on Wednesday, before hosting Slippery Rock University on Friday December 8 at 7:30 p.m. and Point Park University on Sunday, December 10 at 2:00 p.m.
