Lady Cat Basketball Suffers 64-47 Loss at Clarion

Head Coach Jodi Gault and the Lady Cat basketball team fell behind early and suffered a, 64-47, loss at Clarion University, Wednesday evening. Senior guard Allison Krischer (Johnstown, Pa.) scored a game-high 25 points to lead Pitt Johnstown, now 3-3 on the season.
The Lady Cats trailed 31-19 at halftime on just 7-22 shooting from the floor in the first half and were never able to recover. Clarion shot 50.0% (14-28) in the first half and 50.9% (28-55) for the game, while Pitt Johnstown ended the night shooting 35.3% (18-51). The Lady Cats also made just eight of their 21 free-throws and were out rebounded 42-28.
Krischer, who scored 16 of her 25 points in the second half, finished 10-21 from the field with two three-pointers. Krischer also dished out four assists and made five steals. Senior forward Jessica Zapf (Pittsburgh, Pa.) was the only other Lady Cat to score in double figures. Zapf had 10 points and a team-high seven rebounds. With her seven rebounds, Zapf now has 657 career rebounds. She will enter Friday's game against Slippery Rock three rebounds shy of tying Janine Kosmack (1996-00) for 12th on the Lady Cat All-Time Rebounding List. Sophomore guard/forward Lindsay Cale (Hummelstown, Pa.) chipped in seven points and five rebounds in the loss.
Jessica Albanese scored 18 points and grabbed a game-high 15 rebounds to lead Clarion. My'Kea Cohill and Katrina Greer added 15 and 12 points, respectively for the Golden Eagles, who improved to 2-4.
The Lady Cats host Slippery Rock University on Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Point Park University on Sunday at 2:00 p.m., before breaking for finals and the holiday season.
