Lady Cat Soccer Falls 2-0 at Clarion to Kick-Off Season

Clarion University used a pair of unassisted goals on Saturday to deal the Lady Cat soccer team a 2-0 road loss to open the 2009 season. Junior goalkepper Stephanie Paha (Slickville, Pa.) faced nine shots and made a pair of saves, but suffered the loss for Head Coach Jim Herlinger's Lady Cats.
Clarion jumped out to a 1-0 lead 13 minutes into the match on Jordan Daloisio's unassisted goal, before Cathy Chromanski set the final score at 2-0 with another unassisted goal in the 64th minute.
The Golden Eagles out shot Pitt-Johnstown 9-4 to improve to 2-0. Clarion goalkeeper Jenna Kulik saw four Lady Cat shots but did not have to make a save to earn the victory.
The Lady Cats will make their 2009 home debut with the Lady Cat Soccer Kick-Off Classic Sept. 5-7 at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field. Pitt-Johnstown will take on WVIAC rival Ohio Valley (WV) University on Saturday, Sept. 5 at 2 p.m. and Lincoln University on Monday, Sept. 7 at 2:30 p.m. Ohio Valley will play Lincoln on Sunday, Sept. 6 at 4 p.m.
