Lady Cat Soccer Falls 2-0 at Davis & Elkins

WVIAC-leading Davis & Elkins (WV) College used a pair of unanswered second half goals to break open a scoreless match and deal the Lady Cat soccer team a 2-0 road conference loss, Saturday afternoon. Pitt-Johnstown slipped to 2-4-0 overall and 1-1-0 in the WVIAC.
Alexa McCartney took Megan Beal's pass and beat Lady Cat goalkeeper Victoria Der Vanik (Bridgeville, Pa.) to give Davis & Elkins a 1-0 lead in the 56th minute. The Senators added an insurance goal and set the final score at 2-0 in the 75th minute on Kim Brown's goal off of Jackie Krum's assist.
Stephanie Paha (Slickville, Pa.) and Der Vanik split time in goal and combined to make 12 saves. Der Vanik surrendered both goals and took the loss to drop to 1-1-0.
Davis & Elkins, which outshot Pitt-Johnstown 24-4 and held a 14-0 advantage in shots on-goal, improved to 6-1-0 overall and 4-0-0 in the WVIAC.
The Lady Cats travel to Saint Vincent College for a non-conference match on Tuesday, before hosting a WVIAC match against Shepherd (WV) University on Saturday at noon at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.
