Lady Cats Suffer 1-0 Loss at Seton Hill

Seton Hill University's Mackiesh Taylor's goal in the 29th minute proved to be the match-winner as the Griffins dealt the Lady Cat soccer team a 1-0 WVIAC road loss, Wednesday afternoon. Lady Cat goalkeeper Victoria Der Vanik (Bridgeville, Pa.) made five saves, but Pitt-Johnstown slipped to 6-6-0 overall and 3-3-0 in the WVIAC.
Taylor took Amber Mondock's pass in the 29th minute and beat Der Vanik with the match's lone goal to lead the Griffins to the 1-0 win.
Der Vanik faced 13 Seton Hill shots and made five saves, but surrendered the game-winning goal and fell to 3-2-0 on the year. Jenna Forzano saw 11 Pitt-Johnstown shots and made four saves to earn the shutout.
Seton Hill made it three straight wins and improved to 4-8-0 overall and 3-2-0 in conference play.
The Lady Cats continue a stretch of four straight road matches at the University of Charleston (WV) on Saturday, Oct. 17. Pitt-Johnstown will play its next home match and celebrate Senior Day against Alderson-Broaddus (WV) College on Sunday, Oct. 25 at 2 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.
