Women's Soccer Scores 4-2 Win at Salem International

Freshman midfielder Lindsay Plowman (Apollo, Pa.) scored a pair of goals, including the game-winner, to lead the Pitt Johnstown women's soccer team to a 4-2 victory at Salem International (WV) Unversity, Saturday afternoon. Head Coach Crystal Dye's team improved to 7-2-0 on the season.
Pitt Johnstown took a 1-0 lead when sophomor midfielder Alyssa McKinney (Pittsburgh, Pa.) scored off of a cross from freshman midfielder Krysten Medzie (Clearfield, Pa.) at 7:44 of the first half. Pitt Johnstown added another goal in the 45th minute when Medzie took a pass from freshman forward Alicia Zack (Irwin, Pa.) and found the back of the net.
In the second half, Plowman scored her first goal, which turned out to be the game-winner, when Zack collected her second assist at 57:54. Twenty-five minutes later, Plowman notched her second goal of the day and sealed the match off of an assist from freshman forward Chrissy Burnsworth (McKeesport, Pa.) in the 82nd minute.
Junior goalkeeper Anna Yarnall (Allentown, Pa.) faced three shots and made one save for Pitt Johnstown to improve to 7-2-0.
With the loss, Salem International dropped to 3-9-0 on the year.
Pitt Johnstown returns home to host Davis & Elkins (WV) College on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m., before traveling to Mansfield University on Saturday, October 14.
