Women's Soccer Wins Third Straight With 4-2 Win at Mansfield

The Pitt Johnstown women's soccer team has won seven of its last eight matches following a 4-2 victory Saturday at Mansfield University. Senior midfielder Kellie Stevens (Davidsville, Pa.) scored two goals to lead Head Coach Crystal Dye's team to the road victory. Pitt Johnstown is now 9-2-0 on the season.
Mansfield started off the scoring in the 27th minute by heading in a corner kick, but Pitt Johnstown was able to score the next four goals. Freshman midfielder Lindsay Plowman
(Apollo, Pa.) got Pitt Johnstown on the board with a goal from Kristen Kelly (Bethel Park, Pa.) and Alicia Zack (Irwin, Pa.) at 35:34 to take a 1-1 tie into halftime. Stevens scored the next two goals in the second half. The first came at 46:19, before scoring her second at 65:38 off of assists from Zack and freshman midfielder Krysten Medzie (Clearfield, Pa.). Zack then scored her 15th goal of the year at 75:41, assisted by freshman defender Katie Croyle (Petersburg, Pa.), to seal the victory for Pitt Johnstown.

Pitt Johnstown goal keeper Anna Yarnall (Allentown, Pa.) made 11 saves and improved to 9-2-0.
With the loss, Mansfield University dropped to 4-11-2 on the year.
Pitt Johnstown returns home to host the University of Charleston (WV) on Sunday at 4:00 p.m.
