Lady Cat Soccer Falls at Home to Davis & Elkins

Head coach Jim Herlinger's Lady Cat soccer team fell behind Davis & Elkins (WV) College, 3-0, 16 minutes into the match and was not able to recover and suffered an 8-0 home loss, Saturday afternoon. With the loss, Pitt-Johnstown slipped to 2-4-0 overall and 1-1-0 in the WVIAC.
The Senators, who outshot the Lady Cats 23-12 and held a 14-5 advantage in shots on-goal, tallied three goals in the first 16 minutes, before taking a 5-0 halftime lead. Davis & Elkins then added three more second half goals en route to the 8-0 win. Cole Dant netted three goals, and Bonnie Little collected two goals to lead the Senators.
Pitt-Johnstown goalkeeper Stephanie Paha (Slickville, Pa.) made five saves, but suffered the loss and dropped to 2-2-0. Jackie Krum and Jessica Coleman combined for the shutout in goal for the Senators.
With the victory, Davis & Elkins improved to 4-3-0 overall and 3-1-0 in WVIAC play.
The Lady Cats will host a non-conference match against Shippensburg University on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m., before traveling to Shepherd (WV) University for a WVIAC match on Friday.
