Women's Soccer Earns 2-0 Win at Chatham

The Pitt Johnstown women's soccer team, which outshot Chatham College 30 -4, tallied a pair of first half goals from Chrissy Burnsworth (Mckeesport, Pa.) and Lauren Penn (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and held that lead for a 2-0 road win Wednesday afternoon. Pitt Johnstown improved to 4-3-0 on the year.
Pitt Johnstown jumped out to a 1-0 lead on Burnsworth's unassisted goal in the 21st minute, before Penn added another unassisted goal in the 32nd minute to secure th 2-0 win.
Red-shirt freshman goal keeper Stephanie Paha (Slickville, Pa.) made four saves to improved to 4-3-0. Chatham goalkeeper Kristie Brannon faced 30 shots and make 13 saves, but suffered the loss.
Despite not netting a goal, Pitt Johnstown sophomore forward Alicia Zack (Irwin, Pa.) led Pitt Johnstown's dominating attack with 14 shots, including five shots on-goal.
With the loss, Chatham dropped to 4-3-0 on the season.
Pitt Johnstown travels to Wheeling Jesuit (WV) University for a WVIAC conference match on Saturday. The team will play its next home match against Carlow University on Saturday, September 29 at 1:00 p.m.
