Lady Cat Soccer Falls at Atlantic Region #7 IUP

For the second straight match, the Lady Cat soccer team suffered a loss to the #7-ranked team in the NSCAA Atlantic Region Poll. On Tuesday, Indiana University (PA), tied for seventh in this week's regional poll, built a 3-0 halftime lead and added five more goals in the second half to hand the Lady Cats an 8-0 non-conference road loss. Pitt-Johnstown is now 3-12-0.
Sarah Romasco tallied three goals and an assist, and Heather Robbins and Ashley Moyer each added a pair of goals to lead the Crimson Hawks. Robbins also had an assist to go with her two goals.
Pitt-Johnstown goalkeepers Stephanie Paha (Slickville, Pa.) and Aubrey Mauger (North Huntingdon, Pa.) combined to face 27 IUP shots, including 16 shots on-goal, and make eight saves in the loss. Paha surrendered five goals and took the loss to fall to 3-10-0. The Lady Cats managed nine shots and six shots on-goal against three Crimson Hawk's goalkeepers. Kelly Brennan earned the shutout after making six saves to improve to 10-3-0.
With the victory, IUP raised its record to 10-4-0.
The Lady Cats host a WVIAC match against the University of Charleston (WV) on Friday at 4:00 p.m., before traveling to Alderson-Broaddus (WV) College for another conference match on Friday, October 24.
