Lady Cat Soccer Season Ends With Loss to Shepherd

Shepherd (WV) University used three second half goals to defeat the Lady Cat soccer team, 3-0, in the 2011 season finale, Wednesday afternoon at Johnstown's Point Stadium. Pitt-Johnstown finished 3-12-0 overall and 1-8-0 in the WVIAC.
After a scoreless first half, the Rams got on the scoreboard in the 72nd minute on Brianna Hines' goal. Shepherd went on to added goals by Ashley Bryant in the 88th minute and Kelsey Smith in the final minute of play to set the final at 3-0.
Victoria Der Vanik (Bridgeville, Pa.) took the loss in goal for the Lady Cats. Der Vanik saw 25 Rams' shots, allowed three goals and made seven saves. Tessa Jones earned the shutout for Shepherd after facing seven shots and making a pair of saves.
With the win, Shepherd improved to 8-7-2 overall and closed out the WVIAC schedule with a 5-2-2 record.
At halftime, Head Coach Jim Herlinger and the Lady Cat soccer program recognized this year's lone senior, Rebecca Foreman (Rockwood, Pa.).
