Alicia Zack Nets Four Goals in Lady Cats' 4-0 Win at Alderson-Broaddus

Alicia Zack (Irwin, Pa.) helped the Lady Cat soccer team snap a five-match losing streak in a big way, Friday Aftenoon. Zack tallied four goals and Kristin Kelly (Bethel Park, Pa.) added a pair of assists in Pitt-Johnstown's 4-0 WVIAC victory at Alderson-Broaddus (WV) College. With the win, Pitt-Johnstown is now 3-14-0 overall and 3-6-0 in conference play.
Zack opened the scoring off of Kelly Steiner's (Elizabeth, Pa.)assist in the fifth minute when she found the top right corner of the net. The score remained 1-0 in favor of the Lady Cats, until Zack scored three more second half goals. Kelly set up Zack's second goal in 50th minute, before Zack took Brittney Miller's (Slippery Rock, Pa.) header three minutes later and beat Alderson-Broaddus goalkeeper Sarah Cooper to increase the lead to 3-0. Zack then took Kelly's pass and set the final score at 4-0 with a long blast the got by Copper.
The Lady Cats put 17 shots on net. Cooper made 13 saves but suffered the loss. Pitt-Johnstown goalkeeper Stephanie Paha (Slickville, Pa.) only faced one shot and made one save to earn the victory and improve to 4-11-0.
With the loss, the Battlers fell to 3-11-0 overall and 2-7-0 in WVIAC play.
The Lady Cats host Shepherd (WV) University in a non-conference match on Tuesday, before celebrating Senior Day and ending the 2008 season with a WVIAC match against Wheeling Jesuit (WV) University on Thursday. Both matches will begin at 3:00 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.
