Mercyhurst Deals Women's Soccer, 6-0 Loss

Head Coach Crystal Dye's women's soccer team traveled to Mercyhurst College, Wednesday afternoon, and gave up three first half goals in a 6-0 loss. Pitt Johnstown is now 4-5-0.
The Lakers opened up a 3-0 first half lead with goals in the 14th, 29th and 45th, before adding three more goals in the second half to hand Pitt Johnstown the 6-0 loss.
Pitt Johnstown freshman goalkeeper Brittany Pryde (Fairhope, Pa.) made six saves, but gave up all six goals in her first collegiate start. Pryde is now 0-1-0. Mercyhurst's Rebecca Heintzman and Ashley Gammiere combined to earn the shutout in goal.
Mercyhurst, which outshot Pitt Johnstown 22-9 and held a 12-3 advantage in shots on-goal, improved to 8-1-1 on the season.
Pitt Johnstown returns home to host Carlow University on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. and Columbia Union (MD) College on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. as part of the University's 80th Anniversary Celebration and the Inauguration of its fifth president, Dr. Jem Spectar.
