Lady Cats Fall 3-1 to Seton Hill on Senior Day

Laura Hoehn (Braddock Hills, Pa.) gave the Lady Cats a 1-0 lead five minutes into the match, but Seton Hill University rallied for three unanswered goals to deal Pitt-Johnstown a 3-1 loss on Senior Day at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field. The Lady Cats fell to 3-12-0 overall and finished the WVIAC schedule with a 2-7-0 record.
Hoehn took a rebound off of Seton Hill goalkeeper Bethany Winter and found the back of the net in the fifth minute to put Pitt-Johnstown up 1-0.
However, the Griffins answered with goals from Alisha Alaimo in the 14th minute and Jackie Fawcett four minutes later to take a 2-1 halftime advantage.
Seton Hill added a goal from Madison Gourley in the 67th minute to set the final at 3-1.
Victoria Der Vanik (Bridgeville, Pa.) faced 22 shots and made seven saves for the Lady Cats, but suffered the loss. Winter saw seven Pitt-Johnstown shots and made four saves.
With the win, the Griffins improved to 8-10-0 overall and 4-5-0 in the WVIAC.
At halftime, Head Coach Jim Herlinger and the Lady Cat soccer program recognized this year's seniors...defender Katie Croyle (Petersburg, Pa.), midfielder Brittney Miller (Slippery Rock, Pa.) and forward Lauren Penn (Plum, Pa.).
The Lady Cats will finish the 2010 season at Saint Vincent College on Wednesday to make-up a match that was postponed due to a thunderstorm on September 22.
