Lady Cats Fall at St. Vincent in Season Finale

Saint Vincent College built a 2-0 lead seven minutes into the second half and held on to deal the Lady Cat soccer team a 2-1 road loss in Wednesday's 2010 season finale. Lindsay Roessler (Chalfont, Pa.) scored the Pitt-Johnstown goal. With the loss, the Lady Cats finished the year with a 3-13-0 overall record.
The Bearcats jumped out to a 1-0 lead 22 minutes into the match on a Monika Derboghossia goal, before increasing the advantage to 2-0 on Frances Kovach's goal in the 52nd minute.
Pitt-Johnstown cut the deficit in half when Roessler found the back of the net 11 minutes later, but that was as close as the Lady Cats would get.
Victoria Der Vanik (Bridgeville, Pa.) faced 16 shots and made six saves, but surrendered both goals. Cassie Overly earned the win after making four saves and not allowing a goal in 45 minutes. Valeri Wilbert played the second half for the Bearcats. Wilbert made four saves and gave up one goal.
With the win, Saint Vincent improved to 6-10-0.
