Volleyball Earns Sweep At Mount Aloysius

For the second time this season, the Lady Cat volleyball team swept Mount Aloysius College. This time, Pitt-Johnstown traveled to Cresson on Thursday and dealt the Mounties a 25-15, 25-14, 25-19 non-conference loss behind eight kills, a block solo and four block assists from Jessica Heidenthal (Clymer, Pa.). The Lady Cats raised their record to 9-13.
Beth Kendera (Johnstown, Pa.) had eight kills, a block solo and five block assists, while Tayler Vebares (Red Lion, Pa.) added six kills for Pitt-Johnstown. Ashley Dirado (Greensburg, Pa.) collected a block solo and four block assists.
Nikki Oakes (Pittsburgh, Pa.) finished with 14 set assists and seven service aces, and Kayla Petrilla (Johnstown, Pa.) chipped-in 13 assists, three aces and nine digs.
Kelsey Kohler (Johnstown, Pa.) and CassieHeatherly (Glendale, AZ) led the way for the Lady Cats with 18 and 12 digs, respectively.
With the loss, Mount Aloysius slipped to 8-18.
The Lady Cats host a WVIAC match against Ohio Valley (WV) University on Friday at 7 p.m. in the Sports Center, before traveling to West Liberty (WV) University on Tuesday for another WVIAC match.
