Volleyball Rolls to Win at Mount Aloysius

Kristin Irwin (Bellefonte, Pa.) and Ashley Hogan (Northern Cambria, Pa.) combined for 28 kills to lead the Lady Cat volleyball team to a 3-0 non-conference sweep at Mount Aloysius College, Tuesday night. Pitt-Johnstown, which swept the home-and-home series with the Mounties, improved to 7-14 on the year.
The Lady Cats swept Mount Aloysius 25-16, 25-15 and 25-18.
Irwin paced Pitt-Johnstown with 15 kills, one block solo and six block assists, while Hogan added 13 kills, a block solo and a block assist. Nicole Houser (Penn Run, Pa.) also had five kills and five block assists.
Kayla Petrilla (Johnstown, Pa.) led the Lady Cats with 22 set assists and two service aces. Taylor King (York, Pa.) had 17 assists. Kelsey Kohler (Johnstown, Pa.) finished with a team-high 25 digs, while Taylor Hrescak (Johnstown, Pa.) chipped in 14 digs, and Abby Gearhart (Elton, Pa.) had nine digs and two service aces.
With the loss, Mount Aloysius fell to 8-13 on the season.
The Lady Cats return home to play four straight matches in the Sports Center beginning with Ohio Valley (WV) University on Friday at 6 p.m.
