Lady Cat Volleyball Defeats Frostburg State, 3-1

Head Coach Linda Renzi's Lady Cat volleyball team bounced back from last weekend's losses at the Saint Vincent College tri-match with a three-games-to-one victory at Frostburg State (MD) University, Wednesday night. Freshman middle hitter Megan Lasut's (Central City, Pa.) 14 kills and seven blocks helped Pitt Johnstown improve to 10-7 on the season.
The Lady Cats took game one, 30-26, before dropping game two, 29-31. Pitt Johnstown then went on to win the next two games, 30-21 and 30-23.
Along with Lasut's efforts, sophomore setter Merissa Larrew (Irwin, Pa.) had 47 assists and senior defensive specialist Ashley Brant (Johnstown, Pa.) tallied 25 digs in the victory.
As a team, the Lady Cats also had seven service aces.
With the loss, Frostburg State fell to 8-13 on the year.
The Lady Cats travel to Shepherd (WV) University on Friday, before returning home to host Mount Aloysius College on Wednesday, October 11 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sports Center.
