Volleyball Wins Fourth Straight With 3-1 Victory At Mount Aloysius

Nicole Houser (Penn Run, Pa.) and Taylor Hrescak (Johnstown, Pa.) each had nine kills to lead the Pitt-Johnstown women's volleyball team to a 3-1 non-conference victory at Mount Aloysius College, Tuesday night. The Lady Cats, winners of four straight matches, improved to 11-6.
Pitt-Johnstown defeated the Mounties 25-6, 23-25, 25-22, 25-17.
In addition to their nine kills, Houser had two block solos and two block assists, while Hrescak had a block assist and four services aces. Kristin Irwin (Bellefonte, Pa.) added seven kills, three block solos and three block assists, and Jessica Heidenthal (Clymer, Pa.) collected seven kills. Head coach Linda Renzi also got 29 set assists from Merissa Larrew (Irwin, Pa.) and seven assists from Taylor King (York, Pa.) in the win.
With the loss, Mount Aloysius fell to 5-12 on the season.
Pitt-Johnstown travels to Fairmont State (WV) University on Wednesday, Ohio Valley (WV) University on Friday and Salem International (WV) University on Saturday. The Lady Cats will return home to host a WVIAC match against Fairmont State on Thursday, October 16 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sports Center.
