Women's Volleyball Splits at Mount Aloysius Tri-Match

Head Coach Linda Renzi's Lady Cat volleyball team opened Saturday's tri-match at Mount Aloysius College with a three-games-to-one victory over Lake Erie College, before suffering a loss in five games to the host school. Sophomore middle hitter Casey Jo Ritenour (Latrobe, Pa.) had 18 kills in the tri-match for Pitt Johnstown, now 16-12 on the season.
In Saturday's second match, Mount Aloysius defeated Pitt Johnstown 30-20 in game one, before the Lady Cats earned 30-26 and 30-25 wins in the next two games. However, the Mounties secured the victory with a 30-25 win in game four and a 15-12 victory in game five. Ritenour added 12 more kills, and freshman middle hitter Megan Lasut (Central City, Pa.) had nines kills. Sophomore setter Merissa Larrew (Irwin, Pa.) tallied 27 set assists and Brant collected 19 more digs.
The Lady Cats travel to Chatham College on Monday to finish the 2006 season.
