Volleyball Sweeps Mount Aloysius in Sports Center

Junior middle hitter Casey Jo Ritenour (Latrobe, Pa.) collected 10 digs and three block assists to lead the Lady Cat volleyball team to a three-games-to-none sweep over visiting Mount Aloysius College, Monday night in the Sports Center. The Lady Cats are now 2-6 on the year.
After earning a pair of 30-19 wins in the first two games, Head Coach Linda Renzi's team finished the sweep and snapped a six match losing streak with a tight, 33-31, win in game three.
Along with Ritenour, sophomore outside hitter Abby Gearhart (Elton, Pa.) had seven kills, and junior middle hitter Kristin Irwin (Bellefonte, Pa.) added five kills and a pair of block assists. Sophomore outside hitter Kelly Miller (Stoystown, Pa.) chipped in three block assists and five digs, while freshman Taylor King (York, Pa.) and junior Merissa Larrew (Irwin, Pa.) had 18 and 17 assists, respectively. Sophomore defensive specialist Kim Shubra (Penn Run, Pa.) had six digs in the victory.
With the loss, Mount Aloysius dropped to 1-5 on the season.
The Lady Cats will host WVIAC conference rival Shepherd (WV) University on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in the Sports Center, before traveling to Alderson-Broaddus (WV) College on Saturday for another WVIAC conference match.
