Volleyball Swept at Charleston to End Regular Season

Head Coach Linda Renzi's Lady Cat volleyball team wrapped up the 2008 regular season with a 3-0 loss at the University of Charleston (WV), Saturday afternoon. Taylor Hrescak (Johnstown, Pa.) had nine kills and 21 digs to lead Pitt-Johnstown, now 20-12 overall and 9-6 in the WVIAC.
Charleston dealt the Lady Cats a 25-22, 25-23, 25-15 loss.
Along with Hrescak, Kristin Irwin (Bellefonte, Pa.) had a pair of block solos and four block assists. Taylor King (York, Pa.) led the way with 14 set assists, while Merisssa Larrew (Irwin, Pa.) collected 10 assists. Abby Gearhart (Elton, Pa.) chipped in 20 digs in the loss.
With the victory, Charleston improved to 13-16 overall and 6-7 in conference play.
Pitt-Johnstown will compete in the WVIAC Tournament from November 13-15 in Charleston, WV.
