Volleyball Finishes St. Vincent Tournament With 3-1 Record

Following a pair of wins on Friday night to open the Saint Vincent College Tournament, Head Coach Linda Renzi's Lady Cat Volleyball team defeated Carlow College 3-games-to-none, but were swept by the host school to finish with a 3-1 record. Senior outside hitter Abbey Hrescak (Johnstown, Pa.) led Pitt Johnstown with 11 kills in the win over Carlow. The Lady Cats now have a 3-2 overall record.
In Saturday's first match, Pitt Johnstown swept Carlow a 30-13, 30-26 and 30-16. Along with Hrescak's 11 kills, senior defensive specialist Ashley Brant (Johnstown, Pa.) collected 13 digs.
However, the Lady Cats could not keep the momentum going in the second match and fell to St. Vincent 27-30, 22-30 and 28-30. Freshman middle hitter Megan Lasut (Central City, Pa.) had a team-high 12 kills and senior setter Sarah Davison (Grove City, Pa.) had 31 assists.
The Lady Cats will host a Tri-Match with Philadelphia University and Point Park University on Saturday beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the Sports Center.
