NCAA Tournament qualifier West Virginia Wesleyan College made a clean sweep of the top conference women's soccer awards as voted upon by the league's 11 head coaches. Senior Katie Schubert claims her second-straight Player of the Year honor, while goalkeeper Caroline Lalley grabbed the Freshman of the Year award. Lady Bobcat head coach Glenn Francis also was a repeat selection for Coach of the Year.
Babik earned her second-straight selection to the All-WVIAC Second Team, while Kelly was Second Team All-WVIAC and Second Team Daktronics All-Great Lakes Region a year ago. In 2008, Kelly was Pitt-Johnstown's second-leading scorer with 15 points on five goals and five assists. Zack, a Second Team All-WVIAC selection in 2006, led the Lady Cats in scoring this year with 20 points (seven goals, six assists).
West Virginia Wesleyan, which stormed to a perfect 10-0-0 mark in WVIAC regular season play, dominated the First Team All-WVIAC selections with seven athletes on the 16-player squad. Regular season and tournament runner-up Concord (WV) University placed three players on the league's top squad.
West Virginia Wesleyan teammates Schubert, Meghan Zayas and Alanna Torrey, were joined by Davis & Elkins (WV) College's high-scoring Cole Dant, as the only players who are repeat selections from last season's All-WVIAC First Team.
