Heidenthal and Shanabrook on All-WVIAC Volleyball Teams

Pitt-Johnstown senior outside hitter Jessica Heidenthal (Clymer, Pa.) was named Honorable Mention All-West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC) Women's Volleyball, while fellow outside hitter Kelsey Shanabrook (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) earned a spot on the All-Freshman Team when this year's teams were released on Thursday... Heidenthal, a graduate of Penns Manor Area High School, led the Lady Cats in kills per set at 3.03. She also had 26 total blocks (12 block solos, 14 block assists) and 83 digs.
Shanabrook earned a spot on the WVIAC All-Freshman after finishing third on the team in kills per set (1.60) and fourth in total blocks (42).
WVIAC regular season champion Wheeling Jesuit (WV) University claimed both of the league's top player and coach of the year honors for the 2011 volleyball season. Allison Ware was tabbed the conference's player of the year, while Christy Benner took home coach of the year honors after guiding the Cardinals to a 30-3 overall record and a perfect 14-0 mark in conference-play.
Alderson-Broaddus (WV) College's Victoria Morgan was named the WVIAC Freshman of the Year.
