Heidenthal, Novotny Named WVIAC Scholar-Athletes

Pitt-Johnstown volleyball player Jessica Heidenthal (Clymer, Pa.) and baseball player Joe Novotny (Johnstown, Pa.) were named 2010-11 West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC) Scholar-Athletes on Wednesday to lead a group of 23 Mountain Cats and Lady Cats who earned spots on this year's WVIAC Commissioner's Honor Roll. Heidenthal's 3.95 GPA in Business was the highest for all of Pitt-Johnstown's female athletes, while Novotny's 3.84 GPA in Civil Engineering Technology led the male athletes.

In all, 548 WVIAC student-athletes were selected to the 2010-11 Commissioner's Honor Roll. Qualifying student-athletes are classified as a junior or senior and have obtained a 3.3 or higher cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale at the end of the term of attendance in which the sport was concluded.
