Cross Country Places Eighth at WVIAC Championships

Danielle Pye captured the individual title with a 6K time of 23:14 to help lead Concord (WV) University to the school's first WVIAC women's cross country championship, Saturday afternoon in Glenville, WV. Kelly Goode (Cincinnati, OH) placed 36th to lead Pitt-Johnstown to an eighth-place finish in the 13-team event.
Kelly Goode finished 36th with a time of 26:22. Emily Doll (Wexford, Pa.) placed 37th at 26:29, and Stacy Goode (Cincinnati, OH) finished 38th, just behind Doll at 26:29. Olivia Ragno (Johnstown, Pa.) (28:15) and Amber Emery (Friedens, Pa.) (30:21) rounded out the top-five Lady Cat runners in 55th and 66th-place, respectively.
Concord won the team championship with 49 points. Seton Hill University and Wheeling Jesuit (WV) University tied for second with 75 points, while Alderson-Broaddus (WV) College and West Virginia Wesleyan College tied for fourth-place with 91 points. Pitt-Johnstown was eighth with 232 points.
