Glenville State (WV) guard Donita Adams, the WVIAC's leading scorer at 22.4 points per game, was named as the league's 2009-10 Player of the Year, while Davis & Elkins' (WV) Shalisa Hill was the Freshman of the Year. West Virginia Wesleyan's Steve Tierney rounds out the top awards by becoming his school's first-ever WVIAC Women's Basketball Coach of the Year after leading the Bobcats to the conference's regular season crown.
Aden, a Second Team All-WVIAC choice as a sophomore, leads Pitt-Johnstown in scoring at 14.6 points per game and steals with 56. Aden, who notched her 1,000th career point earlier this season, is also second on the team in assists (77), field goal percentage (49.5%) and blocked shots (10). She is third on the team in rebounding at 5.2 rebounds per game.
Dalton is Pitt-Johnstown's leading rebounder (6.3 rpg.) and second-leading scorer (14.3 ppg.). Her 45 three-pointer also pace the team. Dalton is shooting 41.7% from the field, 31.5% from three-point range and 84% from the free-throw line.
Fairmont State's Ashley Vavrek, Seton Hill's Katie Lintner, and West Liberty's Tori Hansen are repeat selections on this season's first team All-WVIAC squad. Pitt-Johnstown's Sheena Aden and Seton Hill's Jordan Burkes move up from the 2008-09 all-conference second team. Adams, Alixandria Barnette (WV State), Lydia Bridenbaugh (WV Wesleyan), and Lindsey Kentner (Charleston) comprise the remainder of the nine-player All-WVIAC first team for 2009-10.
