California University (PA) jumped on Lady Cats keeper Leeann Gorman for
five first half goals, including four in the first 23 minutes en route to
dealing Pitt-Johnstown a 9-0 PSAC road loss on Tuesday. The Lady
Cats dropped to 0-6-0 overall and 0-6-0 in the PSAC.
The Vulcans started off the game strong, with Haley Henderson scoring the
in the 4th minute off of assists from Erin Hogan and Stephanie Thompson. 
Five minutes later, Marissa Neifert scored on a header to make it 2-0.
California (PA) wasn't done yet.  Chelsea Crockett scored in the 12th
minute, and Jordan Gray turned a breakaway into a goal, before Janelle
McCann made it 5-0 at the break with a goal in the 34th minute.
California added four goals in the second half to to cruise to the 9-0 victory.
Gorman played the first half in net for Pitt-Johnstown and allowed five goals on 22 shots.  Gorman also made 10 saves.
Timi Shiock played in goal to open the 
second half before Rebekah Schultz replaced her in the 80th minute. Shiock made 
four saves.
Meghan Jayes played in goal for the first half before Kristin Baierbach
finished the match in goal for the Vulcans.
With the win, the Vulcans improved to 4-2-1 overall and 4-1-0 in
conference-play.
The Lady Cats return home for a PSAC match against Slippery Rock University 
at 4 PM at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field, before traveling to Edinboro University 
for another PSAC match.
