Lady Cats Soccer Opens PSAC-Play With Loss at IUP

Indiana, PA

Box Score
First year Head Coach, Rachel Smith's, Lady Cat soccer team opened it's first  PSAC season on Thursday at Indiana University (PA). However, IUP got a first half hat trick from Brittany Kuhns to lead the Crimson Hawks to a 6-0 victory.

Tonya Fabian scored goals in the sixth and eighth minutes, before Kelsey Fisher made it 3-0 twenty minutes into the match.

The Crimson Hawks weren't done yet. Kuhns followed with three straight goals to make it 6-0 at the half. That is all IUP would need to secure the shutout win over the Lady Cats.

Timi Shiock got the start in goal for Pitt-Johnstown and made two saves, but surrended all six goals. Leeann Gorman played the second half for the Lady Cats and made five saves.

IUP, which used four goal keepers in the shutout, held Pitt-Johnstown to just one shot.

The Lady Cats will host their first PSAC home game on Saturday when Clarion University visits the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field for a 4:00 PM kick off.
